One in Five's Extreme Challenge is on again!
Join the our team & take part in 2012 Extreme Challenge - the Melbourne Marathon (14th October) and Around the Bay in a Day (21st October).
One in Five participants can take part in one or both of these events.
Running Extreme Challengers can take part in the 3km walk, 5.7km run, 10km run, the EXTREME 21km half marathon or the VERY EXTREME 42.2km marathon.
Cycling Extreme Challengers can take part in the 50km, 100km, 135km, the EXTREME 210km, or the VERY EXTREME 250kms.
With Cycling & Running on offer & all these distances available EVERYBODY can be involved!
One in Five's Extreme Challenge is an opportunity for you to raise funds for mental health research and awareness of the benefits of regular exercise for mental health. You will also challenge yourself, both physically and mentally, meet new people & accomplish a fantastic physical challenge!
Running participants will receive detailed training plans, a FREE weekly running group (for beginners through to experienced runners), a fantastic One in Five running singlet & all the support & advice you need to help you reach your running goal.
Cycling participants will receive detailed training plans, a fantastic One in Five cycling top, discounted rates with our training partners Lead Out Cycling & all the support & advice you need to help you reach your cycling goal.
All of this, plus a dedicated support crew to give you tips, advice and support, and of course, the fun, laughter and team spirit that comes with One in Five's Extreme Challenge experience.
All we need you to do is make the commitment to raising money for One in Five. As a guide participants typically aim to raise at least $500. All money raised goes to support the Mental Health Research Institute in it's efforts to discover causes and treatments for major mental illnesses.
Our Extreme Challenge team strongly encourage anyone who would like to be involved to participate, including those who are currently living with mental illness. We will sponsor participants living with a mental illness for any event entry costs and we also remove any expectation for fundraising.

What do you need to do to be a part of the action:
1. Email linda@oneinfive.com & let us know your intended discipline, distance, your current fitness level & any activity you are currently involved
2. We will send you a training plan, details of the group training sessions for your event and instructions for entering the actual event as part of the One in Five team.
3. Spread the word! Pass these details on to anyone you think might be up for One in Five's Extreme Challenge 2012!!

If these events don't suit but you still want to be part of the Extreme Challenge you can pick your own challenge! We will provide training plans, free training sessions (running only) and a One in Five top for you to wear.
