Extreme Challenge 2008

In 2008 we tackled the Glasshouse Mountains long distance trail runs in Queensland. Participants chose from a number of race distances: 11km, 30km, 50km or the ultra EXTREME 80km. The event was held on Sunday May 18, 2008 and is part of the Glasshouse Mountains Trail Runs event.

37 people made the trip to the Glasshouse Mountains and every runner completed their event successfully. As a group we raised over $40,000 for the Mental Health Research Institute! Our message of the benefits of regular exercise for mental health was told to an audience of millions through press coverage in the Herald Sun, Runner's World Magazine, The Big Issue, The Courier Mail (Brisbane) and Local Leader Newspapers.

Congratulations to all who participated. A special congratulations to Mark Hester who completed the gruelling 80km race in 11 hours, to Steve Moore who came 3rd in the 50km race and Ryan Wavish who won the 30km race.

A celebration for the team, our supporters, friends and sponsors was held on Sunday 29th June 2008 at The Grand Hotel, Richmond
