One In Five Research Project
The generous support provided by One in Five in 2004 has allowed its beneficiary, the Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria (MHRI) to begin the important and difficult work of trying to develop new treatments for psychotic disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression and for substance abuse. One in Five's generosity has been beneficial in two ways.
It has enabled the establishment of a specialised laboratory to conduct this research.
It has provided funding for Dr Suresh Sundram and Avril Pereira, a talented young researcher, to begin this new research program.
