Achievements
May 2008 The annual Extreme Challenge saw over 35 people fly to
Queensland to compete in the Glasshouse Mountain’s Trail Run raising
over $40,000. One in Five sponsored the participation of person who
is affected by schizophrenia. He successfully trained for and
completed a 30 kilometre run.
February 2008 Bolt Blowers Surf Competition was held on a cold, wet
and windy Summer’s day at Gunnamatta Beach. Over 70 surfers braved
the tough conditions and helped to raise over $30,000.
October 2007 The annual Extreme Cocktail Party was held at the Hi-Fi
Bar and Ballroom. Over 400 people attended and helped raise over
$40,000
August 2007 One in Five’s inaugural Extremely Long Lunch was held at
Malvern Town Hall with 200 people attending and raising over
$35,000
May, 2007 Extreme Challenge Great Ocean Road Marathon – 49 people
competed in a variety of events ranging from a 6.5km run to a full
marathon and raised just under $60,000
February 2007 Bolt Blowers Surf Competition – over 50 surfers
participated in the annual competition and helped to raise over
$10,000 for One in Five.
Kokoda Blue Trek - June 2006
A group of 11 people completed a challenging trek of the Kokoda Trail raising over $50,000 for One in Five and the Mental Health Research Insitute in the process.
Missy Higgins, The Vanguard, Sydney - October 2005
Missy Higgins performed an intimate concert at The Vanguard on the eve of the Arias to raise money for One in Five. The night was a huge success raising over $35,000 with all proceeds being passed on to the Mental Health Research Institute.
